PROGRESSIVE NEW ALBUM REVIEW METHOD

Hello devoted fanbase.
Many other blogs give scores/ratings to albums they like. Since these blogs are composed of just as many weirdo writers as we are, it seemed only appropriate to establish our 'brand' of music review.
The HNW method of reviewing is a formula more sacredly protected than Big Mac sauce or even the formula for swirl ice cream at BP. See for yourselves if you can discern the method to the madness.

First up! A new album from the band Deerhunter, Halycon Digest.
I admit to having a Deerhunter album (Microcastle) that I have not played one time. +0
I just downloaded Halycon Digest at the behest of other bloggers and publications that actually have time to listen and reflect on such things.

Here is the album cover.

Interesting.
Apparently this is a picture of Danny DeVito at his wedding, circa 1940s.
Or, this could be the lovechild of Danny DeVito and Utah Jazz Russian assassin Andrei Kirilenko. (It's all in the jawline I tell ya.)

Yep.
This tells me that Halcyon Digest is filled with Always Sunny in Philadelphia references, and lyrics about Russian mobs and the cold war. +4

Next category is the actual songs.
I have listened to the song "Helicopter" a couple times. The blogosphere is 'digging that shit' and I must admit so am I. +2

Other songs:
"Earthquake"
"Don't Cry"
"Revival"
"Sailing"
"Memory Boy"
"Desire Lines"
"Basement Scene"
"Fountain Stairs"
"Coronado"
"He Would Have Laughed"

It seems that this album has themes of natural disasters, action movies, crying boys, and a coronation ceremony taking place in a fountain. So that means the king is a secret Russian king from the Cold War era, and Danny DeVito is narrating at Paddy's Pub. Awesome. +17

SCORE (NOT AN AVERAGE) : 23

Here's the music video for Helicopter. Game, blouses.
